DreamMatch AI believes in user autonomy. If you want to leave, we make it easy—not hard.
How to Delete Your Account
Method 1: Self-Service (Recommended)
- Go to Settings → Account
- Scroll to "Delete Account"
- Click "Delete My Account"
- Confirm via email link
- Done. Your data is queued for deletion.
Method 2: Email Request
- Email admin@dreammatchai.com
- Subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include: Your registered email address
- We'll respond within 48 hours with confirmation
What Gets Deleted
- ✅ Your profile, resume, and career history
- ✅ All AI-generated insights and match scores
- ✅ Interview prep materials and coaching notes
- ✅ Job applications and saved searches
- ✅ Email preferences and notification settings
- ✅ Payment history (after 7-year legal retention period)
What Stays (And Why)
Aggregated Analytics:
Anonymized data used to improve AI models (e.g., "Users who prep for 3+ hours have 20% better interview success"). Your identity is permanently removed.
Legal Records:
If you were involved in a dispute, fraud investigation, or legal matter, we may retain minimum necessary records as required by law.
Backups:
Your data is removed from active systems immediately but may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before automatic purge.
Deletion Timeline
- Account disabled: Immediate
- Data removed from active systems: Within 24 hours
- Data purged from backups: Within 30 days
- Confirmation email sent: Within 72 hours
What If You Change Your Mind?
You have 30 days to cancel your deletion request by emailing admin@dreammatchai.com.
After 30 days, deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Export Your Data First
Before deleting, you can download all your data:
- Go to Settings → Privacy
- Click "Export My Data"
- Receive JSON file via email within 24 hours
- Includes: Profile, resume, applications, AI insights
What About Employer Relationships?
If you applied to jobs through DreamMatch AI:
- Your applications remain visible to employers you applied to (they need this for hiring records)
- Your name and contact info are retained by employers independently
- Future communications from those employers go directly to you—we have no control over that
Important: Deleting your DreamMatch AI account does NOT automatically withdraw job applications you've already submitted.
Third-Party Services
If you connected third-party accounts:
- DreamMatch AI deletes our connection to those services
- Third-party services retain their own data per their policies
- Revoke access separately through each service's settings
